ABOUT

One person.
No subcontractors.

I'm Sofia Cornali. I design, build, and hand off every Digital Willow project myself. No account manager. No dev team you'll never meet.

I didn't start in web design.

Krang Tachang, Cambodia (2013) — Admiring childrens’ Paint projects

I started in international relations. An M.A. from Johns Hopkins SAIS, six languages, years spent sitting across from people who saw a problem completely differently than I did and still needing to land on a clear answer with them. None of that was supposed to turn into a web design career. It just did.

Somewhere in between I moved into ecommerce, then digital transformation, then added an M.Sc. in Data Science from Northwestern University — not by plan, but because I kept following what actually held my attention: how a business works underneath the surface. That's still what I do before I touch a single pixel. Understand the product, the customer, and what's actually broken.

I'm a registered Shopify Partner and a Squarespace Circle member. I code, I design, I have fun solving problems. Day to day I work in Klaviyo, GA4, Mailchimp, Webflow, HubSpot, Gorgias, Pinterest Ads, Python, and SQL. When a project needs something outside that list, I learn it or build it myself. And if your customers write to you in Italian or English, I build with both in mind from day one — I've lived and worked in both places, not read about one of them.

The background tells you I understand how a business works. Whether I can actually build one well is a different question — the sites answer it better than I can. See the work →

WHY ONE PERSON

Solo isn't a smaller version of an agency.

It's a different structure. Here's what changes when there's no one else in the room.

NO HANDOFF BETWEEN DEPARTMENTS

There's no strategist who scopes the project and no separate designer who builds it. One person does both, so nothing gets lost translating your brief into someone else's interpretation of it.

The person who scoped it is the person who builds it

Nothing changes hands between the sales call and the actual work. What was agreed is what gets built, by the same person who agreed to it.

No account manager relaying messages

When you ask a question, you get an answer from the person who knows the answer — not a summary of what they told someone else to tell you.

IF I BRING IN HELP, YOU DON'T PAY FOR IT

Most projects, it's just me, start to finish. On the rare one where I bring someone else in, that's on me — not itemized, not marked up, not passed on to you as a surprise line item later.

How it actually works day to day

No ticket system. No queue.

You message me directly

Email or the channel we agree on at kickoff. Not a support inbox. Not a form that generates a ticket number.

I REPLY

Not a project manager checking with me and getting back to you. Me, answering the question you actually asked.

Nothing waits on a meeting

There's no internal sync before I can tell you where things stand. I know where things stand. I tell you.

Handoff includes you knowing how to run it

Before the project closes, you'll know how to update a price, swap a photo, and change your copy — without calling me to do it.

Ready to start?

One call. One scope document. No surprises.
